An Independence Day Dress

I've got a little girly-girl on my hands. McK looooves to wear dresses. After church on Sundays, I usually take off her nice church dress and change her into play clothes, and as I do it she often goes right to the closet and points at another dress she wants to put on next. (She probably wishes every day was Sunday so she could wear pretty dresses, except for the fact that she HATES sacrament meeting. She pretty much screams the whole time.) Anyway, it's fun to dress her up and it's fun to do her hair. I never thought I would get so much joy out of putting my little girl in pigtails. So much fun.

I recently got a new sewing machine, and I've made a few cute little dresses for McK. I've made a recycled T-shirt dress, two nightgowns, and this new one so far. Look at this little dress I made for McKinley yesterday! I used a cheap tshirt I got at Walmart and made the skirt to go with it. What do you think?

The bustle in the back is fun, right? Perfect for the 4th of July. I copied the idea from one I pinned a long time ago. Finally I got around to making it! She loves it so much, she won't let me take it off! I just untied the tie in the back and she ran away crying.

Seriously, it's been at least 5 minutes and I still hear her crying in the other room.
